Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Cape May Co. Road: Police
The Villas resident sustained fatal injuries after he was struck by a Ford Escape, Lower Township police said.
LOWER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A pedestrian died from his injuries after being struck by a car in an Oct. 8 motor vehicle crash, Lower Township police said.
Eric J. Sloan, 42, of the Villas section of the township, was crossing Bayshore Road by the CVS around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2016 Ford Escape heading south, police said.
It was initially reported via a 911 call that a pedestrian had been struck by a car and had sustained serious injuries, police said.

Sloan was treated for life-threatening injuries and died at the scene, according to police.
Also assisting on scene were the Cape May County Medical Examiner’s Office, Lower Township Detective Bureau, Villas Fire Department, AtlantiCare MICU Medic 9 Unit and Inspira EMS.
