Pitching Depth Important For Ocean City Baseball Team With New Pitch Count Rules

Coach Craig Mensinger discussed his team with the Ocean City Sentinel ahead of the new season.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — With the pitching changes taking effect in high school baseball this year, Ocean City coach Craig Mensinger tells the Ocean City Sentinel that his team is going to need some extra arms.

The coach says his team has depth in its rotation with eight arms following the graduation last year of Sean Mooney. He listed Matt Fumo, Dan Noonan, John Riordan, Nate McCallum, Sidney Unsworth and brothers Brandon and Matt Lashley as arms in his rotation.

The team that advanced to the NJSIAA State Group 3 championship game last year will have a lot of new faces, but he said he’s encouraged by the competition between the seniors and the underclassmen.
