Police Seek Stabbing Suspect In Wildwood

WILDWOOD, NJ — Police are seeking a man suspected of stabbing a woman multiple times in a Wildwood apartment.

Wildwood resident Terrance Dore, 43, was actively being searched for as of Wednesday afternoon, police said. He is considered armed and dangerous. Police also believe him to have a "significant eye injury" at this time.

Dore was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

On Sept. 10 just before 9 p.m., police responded to a residence at 100 West Poplar Ave. for reports of a stabbing victim.

Police and members of the fire department found the woman who had been stabbed about two blocks away with multiple stab wounds on her upper body, police said.

Wildwood Rescue immediately performed life-saving measures and took her to Atlantic City Medical Center, police said. Her current status was not immediately available.

Police discovered that a possible suspect had barricaded themselves inside Apartment 1A at 100 West Poplar Ave., authorities said.

Members of the Cape May County Regional S.W.A.T. Team responded and set up a multi block perimeter to ensure public safety, and members of the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office Crisis Negotiation Team also responded, police said.

Eventually the subject inside the apartment, determined to be a witness, left safely and was detained for investigative purposes, police said.

During the investigation, a court authorized search warrant was executed on the apartment and DNA evidence was collected and submitted for analysis, identifying Dore as the suspect, police said.

A warrant has been issued for Dore's arrest, police said. Anyone with information regarding Dore's location is urged to contact the Wildwood Police Department at (609) 522-0222.
