Prescription Drug Take Back Events By Ocean City Oct. 26

Here's where you can safely dispose of prescription drugs on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — National Prescription Drug Take Back Day takes place Saturday, Oct. 26. Several collection sites around the nation will allow you to safely dispose of prescription drugs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Here are the take-back locations near Ocean City:

  • Longport Police Department (2305 Atlantic Ave.)
  • Linwood Police Department, front lobby (400 W Poplar Ave.)
  • Sea Isle City Police Department, first floor (233 John F Kennedy Blvd.)
  • Northfield Police Department (1600 Shore Rd.)

According to the 2018 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 9.9 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
