Queen Infanta Named for Ocean City Baby Parade
The 107th annual Baby Parade is set for Aug. 11.

Ocean City, NJ -- A recent graduate of Ocean City High School has been named the Queen Infanta for this year’s Baby Parade.
Samantha DelSordo graduated from Ocean City High School in June and will attend LIM College in the fall. She was crowned 2016 Queen Infanta in a ceremony Monday on the Ocean City Music Pier. Queen Infanta candidates are judged on their school and community involvement.
The 107th annual Baby Parade takes place on Thursday, Aug. 11, 5 p.m. The parade runs from 6th to 14th streets on the Boardwalk, and is for children ages 10 years old and under. Children entries only will exit at 12th Street.

There are three Divisions:
- Div A: for children in fancy decorated Go-Carts, Strollers;
- Div B: Children in Comic decorated Go-Carts and strollers; and
- Div C: Small Children’s Floats-measuring more than 3x5 feet.
Div D is welcoming floats from area businesses to register.

Kaitlin Becker, co-host of Sprout‘s “Sunny Side Up,” will be the celebrity grand marshal. “Sunny Side Up” is the only live morning show for pre-schoolers, broadcast from NBCUniversal’s 30 Rock Studios in New York City.
Becker is a former member of Ocean City Theater Company. She performed in “Anything Goes,” “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Hairspray” and other productions.
Ocean City is the only place in the nation that has presented a Baby Parade since 1909, according to Public Relations Director Mark Soifer.
