Register Now for Ocean City's Night In Venice
The 61st annual boat parade and bay front home celebration takes place on Saturday, July 11.
Now’s the time to register for the Night in Venice.
The 61st annual boat parade and bay front home celebration takes place Saturday, July 11. The boat parade begins at 6 p.m. by the Longport Bridge at the north point of the island. An array of decorated boats, many featuring music, will sail along the Bay and in and out of lagoons to Tennessee Avenue at 23rd Street.
Several hundred decorated bay front homes will also be showcased.

Prizes will be awarded for both home and boat owners, and entry into the competition is free.
All boat owners will receive a complimentary photo of their boat in the parade.

“Dancing Under the Stars” is the suggested theme, but participants are reminded they can select any theme they wish.
The “Dancing Under the Stars” theme will be represented on a commemorative mug given to all boat and home contestants.
John Stauffer, owner of Johnson’s Popcorn, will be the Grand Marshal. Johnson’s Popcorn is celebrating its 75th anniversary in Ocean City. Johnson’s will distribute “fun items” to both land and water entrants.
The Channel 6 Action News Weather team and an unnamed “legendary” member of the Philadelphia Flyers will also be featured personalities in the parade.
A total of 12 young ladies will compete for the title “Miss Night in Venice” and the opportunity to lead the parade. The lady who raises the most money for local public service organizations wins the title.
In the past, money has been donated to support such charities as the Ocean City After-Prom, Shore Memorial Hospital Nursing students and the HERO Foundation, among others.
