Retiring Staff Members Honored by Ocean City School District

Custodian Felicia Nixon, Teacher Kathy Ziegenfus and Counselor Pat Horvath were honored during the Jan. 28 meeting, the Gazette reports.

The Ocean City School District honored three retiring staff members at its meeting on Jan. 28, the Ocean City Gazette reports.

Custodian Felicia Nixon, Teacher Kathy Ziegenfus and Student Counselor Pat Horvath were honored during the meeting with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Taylor praising each with personal stories, according to the report.

Nixon fought back tears while speaking to those in attendance. She worked the second shift in the district.

Ziegenfus taught first, second and third grades, and was noted for her choice in book reports.

Horvath said she appreciates the support of the community. She is retiring due to illness, according to the report.
