Route 52 Lane Closures Set To Begin

Single-lane closures on Route 52 are scheduled weekdays through Dec. 11 for lighting work on the causeway.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Drivers heading between Ocean City and Somers Point should expect weekday lane closures on the Route 52/Stanton Memorial Causeway starting Monday, Nov. 9, as a state lighting rehabilitation project moves forward.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation said single-lane closures are scheduled in both directions from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next several weeks.

The closures are planned between milepost 0.0 and milepost 2.0 on Route 52/Stanton Memorial Causeway in Cape May and Atlantic counties. According to NJDOT, the work zone is expected to begin with the right lane closed on northbound Route 52 and the left lane closed on southbound Route 52. The lane closures are necessary for electrical work, according to the department.

The department said lane closures will not take place from Monday, Nov. 23, through Friday, Nov. 27, to support Thanksgiving holiday travel. During that period, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions on the causeway. NJDOT said lane closures are scheduled to resume on Monday, Nov. 30.
