See Inside Atlantic City's 2 Newest Casinos

Hard Rock Atlantic City and Ocean Resort casinos offer South Jersey residents new places to gamble.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Who would've seen this coming just a few years ago? Following the closure of one-third of the casinos in Atlantic City back in 2014, two new casinos have opened their doors to the public.

Hard Rock Atlantic City and Ocean Resort casinos are open to the public. They are taking the place of the Taj Mahal and the Revel, which were among the casinos that closed in 2014 and resulted in about 8,000 people losing their jobs. The opening of the casinos promises to bring some of those jobs back and jump start the entertainment scene in Atlantic City.

Hard Rock initially announced its plans to purchase the closed Trump Taj Mahal early last year, and plans to put more of an emphasis on entertainment as opposed to gambling. Residents got their first glimpse of the new casino on Thursday with the guitar smash.

Not to be outdone, Ocean Resort Casino just couldn't wait to open its doors to the public. It moved into the site formerly occupied by The Revel, and has already begun lining up top name talent to entertain throughout the year, including Wanda Sykes and Wayne Brady, as well as Top Rank Boxing card.
