OCEAN CITY, NJ — Beachgoers sighted a shark at an Ocean City beach Wednesday afternoon, according to Fox 29. Ocean City lifeguards forced everyone out of the water.

Two sharks were spotted at 15th Street beach, an Ocean City beach patrol lifeguard told Fox 29. Small sand sharks are fairly common at this time of year and not typically aggressive, several lifeguards said.

Crowds at 10 Ocean City beaches were cleared because of "marine life scares," a beach patrol lieutenant told Fox 29. That can means sightings of sharks, skate, bluefish or even dolphins if they swim too close to shore.
