Snow, Black Ice In South Jersey Forecast: Here's What To Expect
Black ice could be a problem. Here's what to expect as more of the Polar Vortex impacts New Jersey.

Snow is supposed to pass through parts of South Jersey on Friday as New Jersey deals with more effects of the Polar Vortex.
The National Weather Service says there's an 80 percent chance that snow will leave an inch or two in southern New Jersey while temperatures continue to stay low.

The layer of snow could pose a problem for drivers since freezing temperatures could turn it into black ice by the end of Friday.

Temperatures will likely remain in the teens and the 20s on Friday before mild air is expected. Temperatures are supposed to be in the 50s on Monday. But the polar vortex could continue to pose a problem in New Jersey.
When the stratosphere warms suddenly over the North Pole, it weakens the polar vortex and causes the normally pent-up frigid air to be displaced southward and into the New Jersey area, according to AccuWeather.Here is when the region should expect something to happen:

Here is the forecast:
- Friday: Snow showers likely with a chance of light snow before 1pm, then snow showers, mainly between 1pm and 3pm. High near 23. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
- Friday night Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 15. Calm wind.
- Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
- Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
- Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Light and variable wind.
- Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.
