NJ Weather: Snow Estimates Released For Possible Storm
The National Weather Service has the latest projections for a snowstorm that could be the biggest to hit New Jersey in weeks.

New Jersey could be hit with its biggest snowstorm in a while this weekend. The National Weather Service has the latest projections for the entire state that, depending on where you live, should compel you to get your shovel ready.
And it could make traveling to that President's Day weekend vacation spot a bit treacherous, especially in counties that cater to skiing.
Parts of New Jersey are expected to get as many as 3 to 4 inches, while most other areas will likely get 1 to 3 inches, according to the NWS. The least impacted areas could be the Jersey Shore and parts of South Jersey, where less than an inch of snow is expected to accumulate.

The NWS has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire state, saying a quick moving storm system coming late Saturday afternoon – and lingering into very early Sunday – is expected to produce wintry precipitation. The bulk of the precipitation will occur Saturday night.

"While accumulating snow is expected, the amounts and impacts are less certain at this time," according to the National Weather Service.

Accuweather predicts that a snowfall, or a wintry mix, could be "significant," mostly impacting areas along the I-95 corridor from central Virginia, through Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, and into New York.
"At this time, we do not foresee a blockbuster snowstorm for any location with the storm, but rather a 6-12 hour period of snow that may leave behind several inches," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski said in a release. "The band of moderate snowfall may only be 100 miles or so wide from the central Appalachians to New England."
Even where only a few inches of snow fall, it would be enough to cause airport delays and slippery roadways according to AccuWeather. Anyone with travel plans this weekend should be prepared for significant delays and dangerous conditions on both primary and secondary roads, especially spanning Saturday night during the storm and Sunday morning soon after its departure.
