LOWER TOWNSHIP, NJ — State Assemblyman Erik Simonsen recorded an original song, thanking people working on the frontlines during the new-coronavirus pandemic. The New Jersey Assembly GOP released the video Thursday.

The video features images of health care workers, mail carriers and grocery store and warehouse employees. Residents with homemade "thank you" signs also had the opportunity to show appreciation in the video.

“I was inspired by how our essential employees didn’t blink an eye to help us get through this unprecedented crisis,” Simonsen said. “I hope this song conveys our sincere appreciation for all the risks that those on the frontlines must face every day as the rest of us do our part to stay healthy and home.”

Simonsen represents the 1st legislative district in the General Assembly with former Ocean City Councilman Antwan McClellan. Both were sworn in January.
