Special Sign Up Night For Ocean City Nor'Easters Fall Rec Program Next Week

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The Ocean City Nor’easters soccer club will host a special sign-up night for children in grades K-8 who wish to participate in its fall recreation program.

The sign-up night is set for Thursday, Sept. 14, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nor'easters' clubhouse at 200 Sixth Street in Ocean City. The camp runs from Sept. 21 through Nov. 4.

Nor’easters coaches will help introduce kids to the sport in a “fun, age-appropriate” way, the club said. The program will be held at Richard Grimes Field at 6th Street and Bay Avenue in Ocean City.

"The Nor'easters are glad to be running the Ocean City Recreation program again this fall," Nor'easters General Manager Giancarlo Granese Jr said. "The rec session will be twice a week Thursday nights and Saturday mornings and will run for a total of seven weeks. We as a club are happy to continue this bond we have developed with the children of Ocean City."

Each session will be one hour and focus on developing basic soccer skills and technical ability through fun activities, drills, and scrimmages.

"Our aim as a club is to make sure that we provided a fun environment for all kids who attend while also making sure that each participant is developing their game regardless of age and experience," Granese said.

• 1st and 2nd grades: 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.;
• 3rd and 4th grades: 6.30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.;
• 5th through 8th grades: 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

• Pre-K and Kindergarten: 9 a.m.-10 a.m.;
• 1st and 2nd grades: 10 a.m.-11 a.m.;
• 3rd and 4th grades: 11 a.m.noon;
• 5th through 8th grades: 11 a.m.-noon.

The club is looking for parent volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade and 5th through 8th grade. Anyone who is interested in volunteering for the fall season should email rec@oceancityfc.com.
