Substance Misuse in the Workplace, How to Support Your Employees
Upcoming discussion for employers on the signs of substance use disorders and available resources to aid employee recovery and wellness.
Employers and management teams in Cape May County are invited to an upcoming discussion highlighting the health and wellbeing of the workforce in the community.
During the “Substance Misuse in the Workplace, How to Support Your Employees” conversation, participants will learn how to identify symptoms of a substance use disorder along with some warning signs to watch for in employees who may be struggling.
Led by Cape Assist’s Director of Prevention Joe Faldetta and Director of Recovery Services Kathy Gibson, the discussion will be held on Friday, September 24 at 1 pm via Zoom.

Faldetta and Gibson also will share how employers can connect employees in need to various systems of care and go over the differences in the adult and children’s systems of care. In NJ, anyone aged 20 or younger is eligible for the children’s system of care for help with substance misuse.
This topic is both timely and relevant. The Cape May County Department of Health cited “70% of employers have been affected by problems related to prescription drug use, including absenteeism, impaired performance, and workplace injury.”
