Teen Charged With Attempted Murder In Ocean City Boardwalk Stabbing
The accused stabber was part of a group of teens fighting on the Boardwalk during a chaotic Memorial Day weekend in Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — A teenager has been charged with attempted murder and more after a 15-year-old boy was stabbed in a fight during a chaotic Memorial Day Weekend in Ocean City, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland and Ocean City Police Chief William Campbell announced Wednesday.
Police were called regarding an assault on the Boardwalk at about 9:12 p.m. on May 25, authorities said. A group of teenagers were fighting, which resulted in a 15-year-old being cut and stabbed in the abdomen, according to officials. He was treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
The prosecutor's office and Ocean City police began an investigation into the identity of the accused stabber. Using witness interviews, surveillance footage review and more, detectives identified a suspect. And on June 4, with assistance from Hamilton Township and Pleasantville police, the suspect was taken into custody in Pleasantville, authorities said.

The alleged stabber, whose name and age are being withheld by the prosecutor's office, is charged as a juvenile delinquent with following: attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon, and was taken to a juvenile detention center pending court proceedings.
Sutherland praised the collaboration between agencies, saying "the arrest of the suspect in this case is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of all the detectives and officers involved. This cooperative effort underscores our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community."
