Timeline Set For Merion Park Flood Mitigation In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The second phase flood mitigation project for the Merion Park neighborhood has a timeline set, Mayor Jay Gillian said in his weekly update from Friday.

Michael Baker International, the engineering firm designing the project's plans, updated Ocean City last week that they would be submitting permit applications and finalizing plans this spring, Gillian said.

The project is expected to go out to bid this summer with construction starting in the fall, Gillian said at a recent City Council meeting.

Gillian and Councilman Bob Barr said that they would meet with the neighborhood no later than April to review the project and details before finalizing the design.

Roosevelt Boulevard and other nearby county roads are set to be elevated with work beginning in 2024, Gillian said.
