Wanted for Child Endangerment: Shannon Schonewolf

Schonewolf failed to appear for a pre-arraignment hearing on Dec. 2.

Shannon Schonewolf, 33, of Westville, is wanted by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office for failure to appear in Superior Court, Woodbury on Dec. 2 for a pre-arraignment interview on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

He is 5’7”, 250 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

On June 8, Deptford Township police were dispatched to Schonewolf’s home for a report of an unresponsive child.

Schonewolf’s six-week old boy subsequently died at Inspira Hospital, Woodbury and an autopsy determined the cause of death was drowning.

An investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and Deptford Police determined that Schonewolf had allegedly fallen asleep for several hours in a bathtub with her son on top of her. She awoke to find the child unconscious. Schonewolf and a co-defendant were charged on June 19 with endangering the welfare of a child.

A Gloucester County grand jury indicted Shannon Schonewolf was indicted on a charge of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child on Nov. 18.
