Where Are Ocean City Wrestlers Seeded in the District Tournament?

The wrestlers on the Ocean City High School wrestling team begin their quest for individual state titles this weekend.

The Red Raiders’ Luke Demore (26-5) is the No. 1 seed at 160 pounds, a weight class with 10 competitors, according to nj.com. His most likely opponent in the final is St. Augustine’s Branden Cirillo,who earned a No. 2 seed despite a 14-17 record. The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the regional tournament next weekend.

Other Ocean City wrestlers seeded in their respective weight classes are as follows (records according to nj.com):

106 (9 wrestlers): No. 5 Peyton Bristol (17-17)

113 (9 wrestlers): No. 9 Rosario LaRosa (6-21)

120 (10 wrestlers): No. 3 David Levin (25-11)

126 (10 wrestlers): No. 3 Cameron Andres (19-10)

132 (9 wrestlers): No. 7 Dustin Oves (12-18)

138 (10 wrestlers): No. 5 Will Nickerson (14-9)

145 (11 wrestlers): No. 3 Shane Stack (23-9)

152 (11 wrestlers): No. 2 Vinny Levin (32-3)

170 (9 wrestlers): No. 2 Andrew Morrill (16-5)

182 (9 wrestlers): No. 2 Jeremy Grund (27-7)

195 (10 wrestlers): No. 6 Kevin Burcaw (12-8)

220 (8 wrestlers): No. 3 Jeff Payne (24-12)

Heavyweight (10 wrestlers): No. 6 Kyle Strunk (6-3)

The tournament begins Friday night, 5 p.m. at Absegami High School. Semifinals begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, with the consolation and finals commencing at 2 p.m.
