Where Are Ocean City Wrestlers Seeded in the District Tournament?

The tournament begins Friday night, 5 p.m. at Absegami.

The wrestlers on the Ocean City High School wrestling team begin their quest for individual state titles this weekend.

The Red Raiders’ Luke Demore (26-5) is the No. 1 seed at 160 pounds, a weight class with 10 competitors, according to nj.com. His most likely opponent in the final is St. Augustine’s Branden Cirillo,who earned a No. 2 seed despite a 14-17 record. The top three wrestlers in each weight class advance to the regional tournament next weekend.

145 (11 wrestlers): No. 3 Shane Stack (23-9)

152 (11 wrestlers): No. 2 Vinny Levin (32-3)

170 (9 wrestlers): No. 2 Andrew Morrill (16-5)

182 (9 wrestlers): No. 2 Jeremy Grund (27-7)

195 (10 wrestlers): No. 6 Kevin Burcaw (12-8)

220 (8 wrestlers): No. 3 Jeff Payne (24-12)

Heavyweight (10 wrestlers): No. 6 Kyle Strunk (6-3)

The tournament begins Friday night, 5 p.m. at Absegami High School. Semifinals begin at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, with the consolation and finals commencing at 2 p.m.
