This letter is being written out of frustration knowing the thousands of hours spent on cable news and the print media with all kinds of experts giving their opinions with little or no concern of the 239 souls as passengers, the flight crew and the families of both.
The aircraft went missing on March 8, 2014 and MH370 still remains a mystery since the 777 airliner started out on a normal flight to Beijing, China from Kuala Lumpur. Since then, not a word or a sighting has been heard or seen. Wasted searches of thousands of square miles of various oceans have been completed with no results. Presently nine aircraft and eight ships have covered 97,000 square miles of ocean, an area approximately the size of Poland. They were searching in the Indian Ocean thousands of miles from the original intended route, since then they have modified the search area to closer to Australia. I am not sure why the changes from the authorities; but it puts little faith in the logic or reasoning as to why the search is taking place in such a desolate part of the Indian Ocean.
Going back to comments made right after the incident some have come forward saying they saw a “low flying” jumbo jet around 6:15 of the morning in question. I understand they further stated, “The aircraft was white with red stripes like a Malaysia jet”.
I have wondered why the search mission has been over the many oceans and the area constantly changing as to location and distance from the last known point of 777 on the eve of its original flight. It also appears that little or no thought has been given to a northerly route over land to Pakistan, Iran or other desolate and remote areas.
It seems strange that no one (the many investigators, the governments of China and Malaysia, our own FBI and other agencies of the many countries involved) has taken the approach that someone who wanted to capture the plane for use on a terrorist mission would not take a dangerous low level flight in a northerly direction of 5000 feet or less to avoid most radar?
We all know the hour was late and as a result the 777 without a transponder would pass over the various countries and not cause any concern; since radar just gave a simple paint of an aircraft passing overhead. The possibility also exists that the 777 could have flown just behind another aircraft and be taken as the lead aircraft. In any event, the 777 just passing overhead at that late hour would just be painted by radar as a non-threatening event and just identified as an aircraft passing through their air space.
In recent wars (Viet Nam in particular) our pilots continually flew at low levels to avoid radar and also to avoid high flying military aircraft. Some experts say this cannot be done—the fact is the aircraft has been missing for a month now and no one has any idea where it possibly crashed and it appears they will not find out on the course and track they are on.
One has to wonder, the many governments utilizing thousands of hours searching the various oceans is like looking for a “needle in the haystack” and no thought has been given to a northerly overland route?
Is this present search and rescue pattern a cover up because the civilized nations of the world are concerned over a possible terrorist attack? Why is the United States taking a second or lesser position in the Search and Rescue which is being dominated by Australia, New Zealand and China?
The United States by far has the most advanced aircraft and search and rescue equipment and yet it appears our role is secondary? Why?
Finally, in closing in my humble opinion the passengers and crew members can have no law suit against Boeing until and when they can find the aircraft and also find that a malfunction caused the problem of the aircraft going off course.
