Who Will Represent Ocean City? See New Federal, State Districts

The Census brings change to congressional and state legislative districts because of population shifts. See the new districts.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — The completion of the 2020 Census means it is time for the 10-year change in federal and state legislative districts, and those changes affect who represents which towns in every county in New Jersey.

Redistricting is meant to balance the number of people represented by each member of the House of Representatives and each member of the New Jersey Legislature, by adjusting to the population shifts in the state map.

Here's a look at which districts encompass Ocean City now, ahead of the coming primary elections in June and the general election in November.

Ocean City has been in the 2nd Congressional District since 2013, which currently is represented by Republican Jeff Van Drew, and that will not change. (You can see the new map here.)

At the state level, Ocean City has been in the 1st Legislative District and will remain there. The 1st District is represented by Sen. Mike Testa and Assemblymen Antwan McClellan and Erik K. Simonsen. All three are Republicans

The 1st District will include: Corbin City, Estell Manor, Weymouth, Avalon, Cape May, Cape May Point, Dennis, Lower Township, Middle Township, North Wildwood, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Stone Harbor, Upper Township, West Cape May, West Wildwood, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, Woodbine, Bridgeton, Commercial, Downe, Fairfield, Lawrence, Maurice River, Millville and Vineland.
