The Cape May County Board of County Commissioners recognized Vice-Director Jeffrey Pierson last week during his final Commissioner meeting. Pierson is retiring after over 40 years of public service. Pierson joined the Commissioner Board in 2016 and became Vice-Director this year. He was presented with a plaque and was joined by his family at the meeting. His professional background is serving in the United States Army and New Jersey Army National Guard for 42 years retiring as a Brigadier General; six years as Undersheriff Correctional Division, Cape May County Sheriff’s Office; and within State Government in several positions within the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

The Cape May County Board of County Commissioners has set the date for the County’s Reorganization meeting. It will take place on Thursday, January 4th, at 4:00 P.M. at the Cape May Tech Auditorium. The meeting will include the swearing-in of Commissioner Will Morey, Commissioner Bobby Barr, Commissioner-elect Melanie Collette, Sheriff Robert Nolan, and Surrogate Marie Hayes.
