Y.A.L.E. School Presents Workshop on "Behavioral Strategies for the Home
Workshop Supports Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities
Northfield, NJ – Y.A.L.E. School Northfield Campus, a private school serving students with emotional, behavioral, social or learning disabilities, will host a free workshop for the public, professionals, Y.A.L.E parents and staff entitled: “Behavioral Strategies for the Home” presented by Pierre Louis, BCBA. The hour and a half long program will be held on January 19, 2016 identifying functions of behavior and linking them to strategies to implement in the home.
“Some students with disabilities engage in disruptive behaviors as a way of getting attention or to avoid something unpleasant These behaviors typically serve some type of purpose or function. During this workshop attendees will learn about the four typical functions of behavior and ways to address them in the home using behavioral strategies.
Pierre Louis, BCBA, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Executive Director of Training and Leadership Development at Brett DeNovi & Associates, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, will be presenting the workshop. With more than 15 years of experience working with individuals with developmental and behavioral challenges and using his education and experience at the Gloucester County Special Services School District, Y.A.L.E. is proud to welcome Mr. Louis for this important presentation.

This program is offered as an outreach service to the community in and around Northfield, NJ. There is no cost for the workshop or light refreshments, however registration is required. The workshop address is 1000 Burton Ave., Northfield, NJ and will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. If necessary a rain date of January 26, 2016 has been scheduled.
