Alabama Man Arrested On Gun, Drug Charges In Paramus: Police

A 38-year-old from Alabama faces multiple charges after Paramus Police stopped the car he was driving and found a gun and suspected drugs.

PARAMUS, NJ — A 38-year-old man from central Alabama faces multiple charges after Paramus Police stopped the car he was driving and found a gun and suspected drugs.

Police said Milton Watts of Bessemer, Ala. was driving a 2004 Toyota Camry with "extremely blacked out window tint" and had a license plate belonging to a different car.

Two officers stopped Watts while he was on Route 17 Southbound early Monday morning, according to a news release from police.

Watts did not have the registration or insurance for the vehicle, police said. Officers saw a handgun holster on the floor of the car, on the driver's side.

When the officers searched the car, they found a loaded Glock 19, a 9mm handgun. Police arrested Watts and found "a stolen credit card and a small amount of substance believed to be methamphetamine."

Watts has been charged with possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, possession of a handgun by a prohibited person, possession of a large capacity magazine, possession of a stolen credit card, and possession of controlled dangerous substances, according to police.
