PARAMUS, NJ — A Paramus man broke into a pizzeria in that town last month and stole cash "multiple" times, police said Wednesday.
Ramon Fernandez Jr., 25, was charged with heroin possession, burglary, and other charges in connection with thefts at Ralphy's Pizzeria, the Paramus police said.
Police said that on March 4, 5, and 7, between approximately 9 p.m. and 9 a.m., the owner of Ralphy's reported that someone had entered the restaurant by smashing a rear window.
During two of the incidents, cash was removed from the register, police said.
Detective Joseph Windt of the Paramus Police Criminal Investigation Bureau investigated and reviewed footage, which led to the identification of Fernandez in all three break-ins, police said.
Windt was charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of theft, a fourth-degree count of criminal mischief, and third-degree possession of narcortics (heroin).
Fernandez was taken to the Bergen County Jail, where he is currently being held to await his arraignment, police said.
