PARAMUS, NJ — A Paterson man was arrested last week in connection with a robbery in a McDonald's parking lot, Paramus police said.
Jordan R. Clarke, 26, was charged with robbery, terroristic threats, and weapons charges, police said.
Police said that during the early morning hours of May 1, Clarke met with the victims at the McDonald's located on Route 17 north in Paramus for a narcotics transaction.
The victims were seated in their car when Clarke approached.
According to the victims, he demanded cash and property from them. After they refused, he held a knife to the chest of one of the victims.
"As the confrontation escalated, Clarke returned to his vehicle and uttered something to the driver which the victims interpreted as to give him a firearm," police said.
Clarke then returned to the victims' car with his hand under his shirt, police said, leading the victims to believe he had a gun. Clarke again demanded their cash and property, police said.
The victims handed approximately $1,710 in cash and property to Clarke, who then left, police said.
The victims got home and received a phone call from Clarke, police said.
"Clarke demanded more money and subsequently threatened to harm the victim and members of their family if they did not comply," police said.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Clarke. Paterson police apprehended him and turned him over to the Paramus police.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail, police said.
