PARAMUS, NJ — Summer vacation is winding down for Paramus students, with the first day of the 2026-27 school year set for next Tuesday.
Before students fill the hallways again, teachers and staff will have some time to prepare. Schools will be closed to students Wednesday and Thursday for professional development, according to the Paramus Board of Education calendar.
The district has scheduled 183 instructional days for students this year. Families may want to use the final days of summer to check school-specific information, including supply lists, transportation arrangements, class schedules and opening-day instructions.
Students will get a break shortly after returning. Paramus schools will be closed the following Monday for Labor Day, creating a long weekend after the first four days of classes. Schools will also be closed later in September for Yom Kippur.
Families can review the complete calendar and watch for updates on the district's website. They may want to double-check transportation arrangements, schedules and opening-day instructions before students leave home.
