PARAMUS, NJ — Paramus bus riders have a new digital travel companion for trips to New York and the borough's malls.
NJ Transit launched a redesigned website and "Navvie," an AI-powered chatbot, on Tuesday. Available 24/7, Navvie can help riders find schedules, transfers, service alerts and trip-planning information.
The website also offers clearer bus, rail and light-rail schedules, more visible service advisories and improved accessibility.
Additional app upgrades arrive Wednesday, September 9, bringing updated departures, schedules, alerts and trip-planning tools. For Paramus riders, that could make navigating trips to work, New York or shopping centers easier.
"Our redesigned website puts customers first," NJ Transit President and CEO Kris Kolluri said, calling the assistant a "smarter, more convenient" travel tool.
NJ Transit said Navvie could be added to its mobile app by the end of 2026 after the agency reviews results from the chatbot's pilot.
