Today's riddle: How do billboards talk? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Bergen New Bridge breaks ground on $45M multigenerational center (njbiz.com) — Bergen New Bridge Medical Center has broken ground on a $45 million, 45,000‑square‑foot multigenerational care hub on its Paramus campus, slated to open by 2028. The center will combine childcare for workers, community physician offices, and a PACE program helping older adults stay independent, significantly expanding local healthcare and support services for Paramus and Bergen County families.
2. Paramus Changes Sign Ordinance, Setting New Rules for Businesses and Developers (TAPinto.net) — Paramus officials have tightened the borough's sign rules, limiting the size, placement, and duration of banners, flags, and other attention‑getting displays for businesses and new developments. Local shop owners and developers now face specific permit fees, restrictions on construction fence wraps, and detailed rules for apartment-rental marketing signs that could affect how they advertise and present properties around town.
3. 2026 Bergen County girls soccer tournament bracket, scores, schedule (northjersey.com) — Paramus girls soccer opens Bergen County tournament play on Oct. 11, traveling to face 10th-seeded North Arlington in the first round. The county bracket features 24 teams, with later rounds shifting to neutral sites and the championship set for Oct. 31 at Northern Highlands.
4. Former REI and Red Robin Site in Paramus to Become 426 Apartments (jerseydigs.com) — A major redevelopment across from Paramus's Bergen Town Center will turn the former REI and Red Robin site into The Bergen Chapter, a 426‑unit apartment complex with ground‑floor retail. With 15% of units reserved for affordable housing and extensive amenities, the project will add hundreds of homes, parking, and new shops along Route 4 in the borough's busy retail corridor.
5. District 15Fifteen, Vermella Paramus add new retail tenants (njbiz.com) — Vermella in Paramus is adding The NOW Massage and Honey Brewed Cafe to its ground‑floor retail, giving nearby residents and hospital workers new wellness and coffee options. The mixed‑use complex across from the new Valley Hospital and Paramus Park Mall continues leasing apartments and running an affordable housing lottery, with more retail leases expected soon along this busy stretch of Routes 17 and 4.
