PARAMUS, NJ — Before raking up those fallen leaves, Paramus residents might want to consider a few alternatives.
In a recent Facebook post, the Paramus Department of Public Works shared environmentally friendly ways to manage leaves this fall.
Suggestions include mulching leaves into lawns, placing them in garden beds to insulate plants and protect hibernating pollinators, or allowing them to decompose into compost.
Residents can also contact the Environmental Commission for additional ideas.
For those choosing curbside collection, the borough's 2026 leaf pickup program runs through Nov. 29. Leaves must be free of branches and twigs.
