Bergen County Technical Schools Receive $10K For Healthy Initatives

Schools will use money to provide people access to healthy foods and opportunities to be physically active.

The Bergen County Technical School District will receive a $10,000 ShapingNj Healthy Community Grant to help provide greater access to healthy foods and opportunities to be physically active.

ShapingNJ is a partnership of more than 200 organizations working together to improve health and changes that support healthy eating and active living in New Jersey. Eighteen other organizations will each receive $10,000 grants.

“By placing nutritious options in workplace vending machines and implementing other changes at the local level, healthy choices will be more accessible to residents,” said Acting Health Commissioner Cathleen Bennett. “At-risk populations will greatly benefit from the projects these grants support.”
