Bergenstages Announces 2026-27 Theater Season In Paramus

PARAMUS, NJ — Bergen Community College is giving local theater fans four new reasons to take a seat this season. For Paramus residents, the season offers four opportunities to enjoy live theater close to home while supporting local student performers.

Bergenstages, the college’s student theater troupe, announced its 53rd season Thursday, bringing three plays and a musical to the Paramus campus at 400 Paramus Road.

The season opens with “Red Herring,” a fast-moving noir comedy mixing three love stories, a murder mystery and nuclear espionage. Performances run Friday, October 30, through Saturday, November 7, at Ender Hall Lab Theatre.

The musical “She Loves Me” follows two feuding co-workers at a 1930s European perfume shop who unknowingly fall in love as anonymous pen pals. It runs Friday, December 4, through Saturday, December 12, at Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre.

Two plays follow in 2027. “The Adventures of the Black Girl in Her Search for God” runs Friday, February 26, through Saturday, March 6. “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” closes the season Friday, April 2, through Saturday, April 10.

Director Jim Bumgardner said the productions are connected by “discovery,” whether involving love, mystery or life’s meaning. Audiences can expect “laughter, tears and joy,” he said.
