Big Santa Event At Garden State Plaza Cancelled Due To Weather

PARAMUS, NJ — The community event kicking off the return of the giant Santa Claus to the Westfield Garden State Plaza has been cancelled.

Mayor Richard LaBarbiea said the event will be rescheduled, but did not give an exact day and time. (See related: Giant Santa Claus Returns To Garden State Plaza After 30 Years)

"We have been waiting 30 plus years and will have to wait a few days more for his return," LaBarbiera said on his Facebook page.

The first nor'easter of the season has dropped more than 4 inches of snow on North Jersey already. Roads are very hazardous and some are closed.
