Paramus' Community Garden
Girl Scout Troop 247s Bronze Award included planting the garden at Human Services with the help of PHS club, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and various local garden stores. Summer volunteers needed!
On May 31st, 5th Grade Girl Scout troop 247 finished their Bronze Award by planting the community garden at Human Services. Each girl solicited vegetable, fruit and herb plants from the local garden stores and planted them with the hopes that the produce will feed those in need of Paramus. The girls would like to thank the following local gardeners for their donations: Basket Produce, Denny Wiggers, Eisles, Kmart, Lowe’s, Metropolitan Plant Place, and Victoria’s. In addition, the girls would also like to thank the PHS club, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, who helped them on the day of the planting. If any one is interested in helping with the growing of the garden, please contact Irene Maury at Human Services at 201-265-2100 ext. 635. Sign-ups are available to tend to the garden on a weekly basis by watering and weeding the garden.
