Simón Cifuentes is a Colombian multi-instrumentalist based in New York, whose artistic vision is rooted in the dialogue between contemporary jazz and Latin American musical traditions. A double bassist, composer, and vocalist, he performs across instruments including double bass, tiple, cuatro, and piano, shaping a musical language that moves beyond early virtuosity toward a deeper understanding of sound, time, and tradition.
From an early age, he has approached music not merely as execution, but as a form of thought. His relationship with jazz is not imitative, but interpretative. He understands the genre as an open territory where history, identity, and exploration converge.
