Grammy Award–winning saxophonist and composer Miguel Zenón is one of the most influential voices in contemporary jazz. Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Zenón has built a singular musical language that blends jazz with Latin American folkloric traditions and a wide range of global influences.
A Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow and Doris Duke Artist, he has performed and recorded with artists including Charlie Haden, Fred Hersch, Danilo Pérez, Bobby Hutcherson, Steve Coleman, and the SFJAZZ Collective. With 18 recordings as a leader and a career rooted equally in innovation, tradition, and cultural exploration, Zenón continues to expand the possibilities of jazz.
