Care Plus Inaugural Golf Outing To Benefit Mental Illness

The Care Plus Foundation, a charity located in Paramus, is hosting its first golf outing in October. The Foundation works to decrease the stigma of mental illness through education, advocacy, and client assistance.

The Care Plus Foundation announced Thursday it will host its first charity Golf Outing on Oct. 15 at the White Beeches Golf & Country Club in Haworth, Bergen County, New Jersey.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Paramus-based Care Plus NJ, Inc., a provider of mental health care in the Northern New Jersey area. 

The Care Plus Foundation, a supporting arm of Care Plus NJ, was created with a mission to decrease the stigma of mental illness and pave the way to accessibility of care for those looking to seek help.

“This golf outing will provide the necessary funding to help the thousands of people in the northern New Jersey area affected by mental illness every year,” said event co-chair Stephen Gavosto in a press release. “Golfers can enjoy one of the most beautiful courses in the area, White Beeches, while supporting the programs that Care Plus runs for its clients.”

“Care Plus works to build a brighter world for people struggling with their mental health. Our first golf outing is a great opportunity for the local community to get involved in eliminating the stigma of mental illness,” added co-chair Dominick Gargano.

Care Plus NJ Inc. operates 23 sites including three outpatient centers located in Paramus, Fair Lawn, and Montclair, ten residential facilities, offices at three local hospitals, and seven community offices to service Northern New Jersey.

Golfer registration fees will include a buffet lunch, 18 holes of golf with golf cart, cocktail party, prizes, and dinner. Prizes will be awarded for multiple skill contests, including opportunities to win cars from Tenafly Kia and Paul’s Volvo by hitting a hole-in-one.

In June, the Care Plus Foundation  at The Venetian in Garfield to benefit mental illness and substance abuse. 

Sponsors of the golf fundraising event include Columbia Bank, Inserra Supermarkets, HP, Roy W. Walters & Associates, the Fatigati Family, and Sasco Insurance Services.
