Security Guard, 52, Sexually Assaulted Child In North Jersey: Prosecutor
A Bergen County resident faces multiple charges, after officials say he sexually assaulted a juvenile last week.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Officials have charged a Bergen County man with sexual assault and other crimes, after an investigation into the reported sexual assault of a juvenile.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the charges against 52-year-old Steven Spence, who works as a security guard, on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
The state Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the prosecutor's office on Dec. 29 about the alleged sexual assault, per Musella's office.

After an investigation, the prosecutor's office and Englewood Police Department determined Spence "had sexually assaulted the child in Englewood," Musella said. Officers arrested him in Paramus.
Spence, of Englewood, was charged with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

He is being held at the Bergen County Jail, pending a first court appearance in Hackensack.
