Christie, Buono in Paramus Tuesday for Senior Event

Christie, who leads Buono by 20 points, is slated to arrive at 12:30 p.m. Buono will arrive at 11 a.m.

Gov. Chris Christie and would-be governor Barbara Buono are scheduled to appeal to elderly voters as they converge on a senior citizen event Tuesday in Paramus.

The incumbent Republican and his Democratic challenger will be stopping by Van Saun Park at 12:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. respectively, according to a report on nj.com.

The event, hosted by The Bergen County Division of Senior Services, will offer a free lunch with entertainment that includes music, dancing and a craft fair to seniors from all Bergen County municipalities. Festivities will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual picnic dates back to 1967, according to county officials.

There’s a silver lining in that news for Buono, however. The Democrat has narrowed Christie’s lead in the New Jersey Governor's race from a high of 42 percent in February.
