Investigation Underway In Fatal Rochelle Park Motorcycle Crash
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is seeking information about a semi-truck involved in the fatal accident.
ROCHELLE PARK, NJ — A 41-year-old Elmwood Park man is dead after his motorcycle struck a semi-truck on Route 17 in Rochelle Park Tuesday night.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is now seeking public assistance in identifying that semi.
Officers from the Rochelle Park Police Department responded to the accident on Route 17 South around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Officers located the victim, Mario Andres Uran Gaviria, who had suffered severe head trauma, officials said.

He was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation found that a maroon or red semi-trailer truck slowed down to a stop in the right lane of Route 17 South due to traffic ahead. Gaviria was traveling behind the truck, but was unable to brake in time, striking the rear left tire of the semi, authorities said.

The truck continued down south on Route 17 after the accident, according to the Prosecutor's office.
