MALL CRAWLER: Borders Closing Its Doors

Hello Shoppers! The big news of the week is the closing of the books at the . The location, which moved to its current digs less than four years ago will be shutting its doors for good by April 30.

This is the second Borders to close in Paramus. The last one was at Paramus Towne Square, which was a huge superstore that downsized due to taking over half the store.

The Fort Lee location on Main Street is also closing due the company’s Chapter 11 filing last week. But don’t fear avid Borders customers.

The Ramsey location, next to Bed, Bath & Beyond at the Interstate Shopping Center on Route 17 South and the Riverdale location, next to Best Buy and The Sports Authority at Riverdale Crossing on Route 23 North will remain open.

Other News:

Marshalls Shoe Shop will be opening its doors to the public March 3 at the Paramus Towne Square on Route 17 North, between Golfsmith and Ramsey Outdoor. Hours for the grand opening  day will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Normal store hours will be from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

XSRE, a fashion accessory superstore, will opening its doors at the end of March at Paramus Towne Square on Route 17 North. It will be taking over half of the former Circuit City location. There is a new location at Palisades Center which opened around the holidays.
