Men Caught After Car Chase Through Saddle River, Paramus: Report

Two Essex County men were arrested after a car chase Thursday, reports say. The suspects were in a Range Rover stolen from Saddle River.

PARAMUS, NJ — Two Essex County men were arrested after a Bergen County car chase Thursday, multiple media outlets report.

A Range Rover had been stolen from Elmwood Park during the day Thursday and was spotted by Saddle River police, according to the Daily Voice.

Paramus Police waited for the car on southbound Route 17 and attempted make the driver stop, the report said. The driver tried to cut through traffic but hit another car. Four people got out of the Range Rover, the Daily Voice reported.

Police arrested one man in a parking lot, and the other fled to the roof of an adult day care center, according to the Ridgewood Blog. Paramus firefighters used a ladder to get the suspect and police officers off the roof, the Daily Voice and Ridgewood Blog both reported.

Both men are from Essex County and face charges of eluding and possession of stolen property, according to the Daily Voice.

Another vehicle was stolen from a school parking lot near the crash site, the Ridgewood Blog reported.
