NJ Senator Cory Booker Will Provide Bergen CC Keynote Address
The college announced Wednesday that the former presidential hopeful will deliver the address at the online graduation, slated for May 18.

PARAMUS, NJ — New Jersey Senator Cory Booker will deliver the keynote address at Bergen Community College's online graduation, the college announced in a Wednesday news release.
The ceremony, scheduled for Monday, May 18 at 5:30 p.m., will be streamed live on YouTube.
"Sen. Booker represents an inspirational leader from whom our graduates can aspire to become," said Bergen Board of Trustees Chair Gerard L. Carrol, in a statement. "Further, he's a 'hometown hero' for Bergen County, growing up in Harrington Park and graduating from Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan, making his story one that our graduates can relate."

Booker, New Jersey's first African-American senator, sought the Democratic nomination for president earlier this year.
Originally slated to take place at MetLife Stadium, the commencement ceremony was moved to YouTube due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
