No COVID-19 Symptoms? No Problem; Bergen New Bridge Expands Tests
Bergen New Bridge Medical Center announced that those without COVID-19 symptoms can be tested as the center rolls out saliva testing.
PARAMUS, NJ — As Bergen New Bridge Medical Center continues COVID-19 saliva testing, the hospital announced in a news release that existing symptoms are no longer a prerequisite for testing.
As of May 5, even those without symptoms can receive a test at Bergen County's testing site at Bergen New Bridge.
First priority, however, will go to health care workers, symptomatic first responders, workers in "congregate living settings" and asymptomatic residents who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, according to the release.

All testing still requires a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant order, and are only accepted from the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center's Telehealth Network, according to the release.
Bergen New Bridge is the only Bergen County testing site using the Rutgers developed saliva testing as of now, and the hospital also offers COVID-19 antibody testing.
