Online Grocer Expanding to Paramus

Paramus is third in the nation in supermarkets and convenience stores per capita.

Residents will soon have another way to shop for groceries.

FreshDirect, an online grocer, is expanding to Bergen County on Feb. 14. FreshDirect CEO Rick Braddock will deliver the first Bergen County order to Mayor Richard LaBarbiera at Borough Hall.

Braddock will make stops in Garfield and East Rutherford as well. All the mayors involved are donating the food to local charities.

FreshDirect won't lack for competition in Paramus. , , , and all have stores in the Borough.

The grocer says customers will save on time and money by choosing the online route for their fresh produce and meat. The company expanded into Union and Essex counties late last year, creating a 600,000-strong customer base.
