Paramus 18U Baseball Wins Championship

The Paramus 18U (16-5) baseball team won the Valley Central Scholastic Baseball League(VCSBL) Senior Division Championship. 

Paramus defeated Union City 4-3 in the quarter-finals, then defeated Dumont 6-2 in the semi-finals. In the finals, Paramus was matched up against Midland Park(12-1-3) in a best-of-three series. 

Midland Park won game one by a score of 7-2. Paramus came back and won game two 5-1 behind a stellar pitching performance by Anthony D’Errico. The Spartans won the third and deciding game 4-3. 

Yuki Ito pitched 6.1 strong innings and Brandon Smith recorded the final two outs. Matt Krum’s bases-loaded triple in the first and an additional run in that frame was all Paramus needed.
