Paramus Man Wins $1M Playing NJ Lottery's Mega Millions

PARAMUS, NJ — A borough man recently won $1 million playing New Jersey Lottery's Mega Millions game.

Gerard D. usually just plays Jersey Cash 5 everyday, but on May 26 he decided to buy a ticket for Mega Millions, a game he occasionally plays.

He checked the numbers in his car the next morning and was "elated" that he won the $1 million, said New Jersey Lottery officials said.

Gerard, who declined to give his last name, said he will use the money to pay off some bills.

"The win gives Gerard and his family a lot of comfort and financial stability as they look towards their retirement," lottery officials said.

The ticket was purchased at Deli Mart on Main Street in Hackensack.
