Police Use Helicopters In Search For Missing Paramus Man

Police are "trying to be optimistic" about finding Colin Everett; his car was found in the Palisades Interstate Park, police said.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Police are continuing to search for a man in the Palisades Interstate Park who was reported missing Wednesday.

Paramus and Palisades Interstate Parkway police flew rescue helicopters near State Line Lookout in Alpine where Colin Everett's car and cellphone were found, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Police issued an alert asking for the public's help finding Everett, 24, Friday afternoon. His parents reported him missing Wednesday.

Police tracked Everett's cell phone to the lookout, Ehrenberg said. Everett's car was found there Wednesday night.

"We're following every lead, looking at every avenue and we're trying to optimistic," Ehrenberg said.

Everett is 6-foot-1, 150 pounds.
