Paramus to Host NY Giants Youth Camp

The New York Giants Youth Camp is coming to Paramus in mid-July.

The camp, which is attended by more than 2,000 kids each summer, aims to encourage participation in football at the youth level, and also works as a community outreach program.

Enrollment Director Joe D'Amato calls it "the best week of summer" and a "once in a liftetime experience."

The campers, ages 6-14, are grouped by age and experience and participate in either the comprehensive or advanced skills program. The advanced program is for those 10-14 with at least year of tackle football experience.

Through the day at camp, the kids will stretch, participate in footwork fitness training, station based training—working on offensive and defensive skills—scrimmages and competitions.

The camp takes a lunch break, where the kids are brought inside to get out of the heat for awhile. Inside, the campers are will take part in some more activities, interactive football games and learn the benefits of proper hydration and eating habits.

The five-day camp will feature former Giants players, called "Camp Heroes", such as Stephen Baker, Chris Calloway, Eric Dorsey, and Rodney Hampton.

D'Amato said that the Heroes will "coach the campers, sign some autographs , teach the kids various skills, tell stories, and overall send a positive message with some words of wisdom."

At the camp, the youth participants get to "play like Giants".

The camp will be held at , located at 155 North Farview Avenue  from Monday July 18-Friday, July 22 9:00am-3:00pm. The camp costs $449, with early registration discounts available. Campers can register online, by phone, or mail and can save money by registering now.
