Paramus Unveils New Website

Includes several new features and more user-friendly options

Paramus has a new website.

It's still a work in progress, but Steven Tessler, information technology systems specialist for the borough, said the site, which launched Saturday morning, will be more functional and have more features than the old website.

The website will allow the public to get to needed information more easily, he said. Forms that residents and business owners once had to get at Borough Hall can now be downloaded at home.

"It makes he public's life easier, whether it's a resident doing something in their house or a business that needs some licenses," Tessler said.

The new site will also save time for borough workers, Tessler said. The borough's various departments spend a lot of time answering questions asked by the residents.

With more information available online, workers should be freed up to do other borough-related duties.

"The public deserves a better site, but internally, it's going to save a lot of time in each department," Tessler said.

Paramus will be working to eventually add new features after the site's launch, including:

  • An online complaint box
  • A way to report potholes
  • Streaming audio of Mayor and Council meetings

"The website is a work in progress," Tessler said. "Things are always changing and evolving and we're never done."
